Can Arsenal secure their 2nd place?
Liverpool FC have been English champions for just under two weeks and therefore have nothing to lose in the final few matchdays. The team will probably not go into the game with the same intensity as they did a few weeks ago. This was already evident last weekend when they lost 3:1 at Chelsea FC. Arsenal also conceded a defeat and were beaten at home to Bournemouth. Things could now become even more uncomfortable for the Gunners, as they are now only 3 points ahead of Manchester City and only 5 points off sixth place. They cannot afford to take too many chances in the final few matchdays.

Liverpool face their next top match
Liverpool FC were crowned the new Premier League champions two weeks ago. With 82 points, they still have a 15-point lead over their closest rivals. This is still Arsenal FC. The Reds noticeably lowered the intensity on the last matchday and coach Arne Slot also rotated the squad. In the end, they were deservedly beaten 3:1 by Chelsea FC. Something similar could happen in the clash against Arsenal, although the intensity will probably be felt again at Anfield Road. Liverpool have won 14 of their 17 home games this season, only losing to Nottingham Forest last September. Mo Salah could still set the record for most scorers in a season and will therefore be allowed to start again. Their first clash against the Gunners ended in a spectacular 2-2 draw, one of seven draws this season. The last home game they played in the league was a 5-1 win against Tottenham, after which they were crowned English champions. In total, they have won 3 of their last 5 Premier League games.

Arsenal could be in trouble once again
Arsenal FC have been Liverpool FC's closest rivals all season. Even now, after35. They are still in 2nd place in the table after 35 matchdays. However, their lead is shrinking and Manchester City are only 3 points away. Even 6th-placed Nottingham Forest are only 5 points further back. The Gunners should therefore not allow themselves too much more in recent weeks. They have only won one of their last five games and that was away at newly-promoted Ipswich Town (0:4). 3 of these last 5 games ended in a draw, most recently they were beaten 2-1 by Bournemouth. Despite this negative streak, they still have the best defense in the Premier League with only 31 goals conceded in 35 games. However, they have recently conceded 4 goals in just 2 games and have only kept a clean sheet once in the last 5 matchdays. They clearly have too many draws this year for the championship title.
